ISBT Academy

Introduction

Worldwide education in transfusion medicine is one of the main goals of ISBT.  In order to strengthen the leadership and the efforts of the ISBT Academy, the two vice presidents of ISBT have been appointed to head the Academy with the senior vice president as the chairperson and the junior vice president as the co-chair. 

The Standing committee of the ISBT Academy was established during the 21st Regional congress of the ISBT in Lisbon. 

The goals of the Academy are:-

• Hosting workshops or educational activities in association with a national and international symposium or congress
• Supporting educational activities in association with a national and international symposum or congress
• Supporting educational activities by use of the ISBT logo (+/- funding)
• Facilitating core curriculum courses in Transfusion Medicine
• Other educational activities in accordance with the ISBT strategic plan
