Taiwan

Taipei
Taipei, the administrative capital of Taiwan, is the largest city as well as its economic, political, and cultural center. It is bordered by the Xindian River in the south, the Danshui River in the west and the northern of Taipei extends north of the Keelung River and border Taipei’s famous Yangmingshan National Park. The city is surrounded by mountains which creates a semi-tropical climate characterized by hot and humid weather.
Taipei was inhabited by the aboriginal people until the settlers from China moved into the area about 300 years ago. The first permanent settlements were in the western districts, nowadays the Wanhua and Datong. These areas still retain many of the old traditions where visitors can readily discover from the architecture, sculptures and ceremonies of the old streets and temples.
The Xinyi district in which Taipei 101 is located has become a financial and commercial district as the modern face of Taipei with its skyscrapers, convention centers, shopping malls and spaced parks. Over the past decades, Taipei has been undergoing major urban renovations by building the Mass Rapid Transit system, the High Speed Rail, and new bypass highways. Taipei is a modern cosmopolitan metropolis with a wide range of diversities filled with exuberance. As a result, Taipei emerges as one of the most convenient and attractive cities in Asia.
