Programme of the Opening Ceremony
In the opening ceremony, Ten Drum Art Percussion Group will bring performance which combines Chinese historical story, music, and drum art together. Ever since the group was established in the spring of 2000, they have been giving performances in Taiwan and abroad continuously. In Taiwan, they were selected as an outstanding performance art group by the Council for Cultural Affairs. In January 2010, Ten Drum’s album was also nominated as the Best Traditional World Music Album for the 52nd Grammy Awards.

The plot of the play for Opening Ceremony is extracted from a famous Chinese classical novel. By joining the Opening Ceremony, guests will be given a feast of music, drum art, and martial art.

Opening of the Trade Exhibition and Welcome Cocktail Party

A cocktail reception will be held at the Exhibition Area. The reception will permit the delegates to meet old friends and colleagues and make new acquaintances during the evening while enjoying conversations.
Delegates are welcomed by the President of the ISBT and the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee.

Congress Dinner

The Banquet will be held in the evening of November 22 at the ballroom of Le Meridien Taipei. Le Meridien Taipei is new open in 2011 and located in the dynamic central business district within walking distance to department stores, retail malls, and Taipei 101. It is easily accessible by metro, busses, and expressways.

In the events, there will also be an array of cultural programs. During dinner, you will be carried away by the impressive and unique culture performances. 

The dinner will start with a welcome reception. Guests will enjoy the cocktail and showcases at the same time. You will see Chinese style painted lantern and glove puppetry. The masters will demostrate the making process and guests may have the opportunity to try themselves.  
As dinner starts, the famous Hung Sheng Lion Dance Theater will bring an opening performance with a lion dance to wish the whole congress a great success. During this event, guests can enjoy a brand new style of classical Chinese music.
Throughout dinner, an aboriginal chorus called Dalubaling will sing for us.  All the performers are kids from the Paiwan Tribe with beautiful voices. 
Before dinner finishes, the performance group called Dance Forum will bring a dance drama to end this night.
