Meet the ISBT Team
Jenny has a background in biomedical science and worked both in the English National Blood Service and as a hospital transfusion laboratory manager before specialising in External Quality Assessment (EQA). Jenny’s work with the UK EQA scheme (UK NEQAS), most recently as Director, has given her a great opportunity to get involved in many different aspects of transfusion medicine and leadership both within and outside of the UK.
I studied Communication at Universidad Anahuac Mexico Norte in Mexico City, my hometown. In 2011, I went to Melbourne, Australia, as an exchange student at the Australian Catholic University (ACU). After specializing in Cinema, I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Communication in 2012. I worked as an audiovisual free-lance producer and editor in Mexico for about 5 years, expanding my administrative and organizational skills, whilst making use of my creative and logistical abilities. In February 2017, I moved to The Netherlands. Ever since, my professional path has been redirected and now I am more interested in effective management. Besides this, helping good causes has always brought me lots of happiness and satisfaction. Therefore, working at ISBT -where I started in May 2019- is the perfect place for me!
Besides managing the office, I support our Executive Director at the ISBT Central Office. I would be more than happy to help you with anything you need!
In the role of Communication Coordinator I will be happy to assist you with any questions relating the ISBT website, newsletters, our quarterly magazine Transfusion Today, advertising opportunities or any other communication related issues.
Until recently, I have been working as biomedical researcher. I obtained my PhD Degree from Utrecht University and I worked as a post-doctoral fellow at Sanquin Research in Amsterdam as well as at the University Medical Center in Utrecht. As a researcher, I investigated blood cells, blood coagulation factors and the underlying pathological mechanisms of haemophilia.
If you have any questions or suggestions about any scientific topics related to ISBT website, working parties or ISBT congresses, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am looking forward to meeting you at one of ISBT’s meetings or congresses.
I have worked in different enviroments namely, financial, hospitality and customer services with a focus on administration and office management. I have a Bachelors degree in Business Administration which I obtained in Zimbabwe and have since worked in Zimbabwe, South Africa and now in The Netherlands.
I am looking forward to working at ISBT in ensuring smooth running of all memberships.
I started working at ISBT in March 2019, before that I have been working in exciting and fast-paced projects within the entertainment and advertising industry in The Netherlands and Spain.
Before that, I obtained a Master in Graphic Design and a Bachelor in Marketing. This background has been of great use when communicating with the international ISBT community! Within my role as Stakeholder, Marketing and Compliance Coordinator I am the main contact for affiliate members, corporate partners, inquiries about the ISBT Forum and the ISBT App.
I look forward to meeting you and answering any question you may have about the forum, or becoming an affiliate member or corporate partner of ISBT. Feel free to contact me.
I started my finance career over 30 years ago in the United States. I moved to the Netherlands 25 years ago and have had the pleasure of working for a variety of companies big and small. In January 2011 I was fortunate enough to cross paths with the ISBT and have been the finance manager ever since. The ISBT has great people and I enjoy working with the entire team. We are all here to serve so I urge you to contact me if there are any financial matters you would like to discuss.
