The “Gesellschaft für Thrombose- und Hämostaseforschung” (GTH), is holding its 68th Scientific Meeting in Vienna from February 27th to March 1st, 2024.

“Building Bridges in Coagulation” is the theme for the event. The organisers want to explore bridges in coagulation with the goal to develop more comprehensive and synergistic approaches to the scientific evaluation, diagnosis, prophylaxis, and treatment of coagulation disorders and related diseases. The congress program will focus on building bridges between bleeding and thrombosis, basic science and clinical care, diagnosis, and therapy, across age groups, genders, medical specialties, in-patient and out-patient care, and many more.

Another important bridge the organisers want to strengthen is the collaboration with the neighboring countries of Austria in the East (Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia), with whom they have strong historical bonds. Scientists from these countries are part of the scientific committee and will organize special joint symposia. In doing so they aim to facilitate the exchange between these countries and the GTH countries, widening the scope of Central European collaboration.
