Today is World Diabetes Day

This year’s theme, ‘access to diabetes education’, underpins the larger multi-year theme of 'access to care'.

World Diabetes Day (WDD) is celebrated each year on November 14 and is a major public health event worldwide.

Diabetes can lead to heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, blindness, and lower-limb amputation. Research has also shown a connection between diabetes and dementia, hearing loss, and forms of cancer.

You can support the call and raise awareness of the need for more diabetes education in a number of ways. Visit www.worlddiabetesday.org/ for more.
