End of transfusion 
• Residents should be aware that a final set of observations must be recorded, along with documentation of donation number, date and time of transfusion and transfusion completion details and transfusion bags are disposed as per the required biomedical waste guidelines (if local guidelines available)

Rationale

• Patient observations at the end of and post transfusion are important to not miss out any post-transfusion reactions. 
• Patient records containing transfusion should be kept in line with local retention of patient records requirements.
