The third edition of the Rare Blood Provision Workshop, co-organised by the European Blood Alliance (EBA) and the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT), and kindly hosted by Osakidetza (the Basque Center for Transfusion and Human Tissue), will take place in Bilbao, Spain from September 30 - October 1 2025, at Bizkaia Hall – the conference center of the University of the Basque Country. 

This in-depth, practice-focused workshop will bring together professionals working in the field of rare blood, donor identification, matching, cryopreservation, international exchange, and transfusion from across Europe and beyond.

Staff from public or non-profit blood establishments, reference laboratories, and national health systems who are directly involved or interested in rare blood provision.

In-person attendees will have the possibility to join a private visit and a dinner in the Guggenheim museum with fellow workshop attendees on September 30. The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is a modern and contemporary art museum in Spain, it has become a cultural landmark, helping to revitalize the city and housing works by major 20th- and 21st-century artists.
