The virtual congress ISBT2022 was the 37th International Congress of the ISBT held between June 4-8, 2022.
The Anticipating the need for rare blood session included the following presentations:
1. Sandra Nance: Rare blood needs are often unexpected: things to know before it happens to you!
2. France Pirenne: Options for management of patients with sickle cell disease requiring rare blood: stem cell transplantation or genetic matching.
3. Jill Storry: High and low prevalence MNS antigens and the implications for transfusion.
