The webinar was held in May 2021 by Markus Mueller, who is Medical Director of the Institute for Transfusion Medicine and Immunohaematology Kassel at the German Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service Baden-Wuerttemberg - Hessen, Germany. The moderator of the event was Marcia Cardoso from Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies.
1. Aim of the webinar: The audience will learn about innovative platelet collection and production methods and review the guidelines leading to optimization of platelet transfusion therapy. In addition, hear from a centralized blood transfusion center in Germany how to maintain a sustainable supply of platelet concentrates.
