Is this a good randomised controlled trial? Interactive workshop with the experts
Being able to review, critique and analyze scientific literature is a key skill, given the high numbers and large range of papers which are published daily. RCTs are often regarded as ‘gold standard’ in research, but how do we judge whether an RCT was well designed? How do we know if the study results are reliable and relevant? In this interactive workshop, experts from the ISBT/Systematic Reviews Initiative “Transfusion Evidence Round-Up” program and “Talking Transfusion” podcast will guide participants through the process of how to critically review scientific papers, with a particular focus on RCTs. There will be small group breakout sessions led by workshop facilitators, in which participants will work through example papers.
