Professor Dr med Torunn Apelseth is Director of the Norwegian Center for Blood Preparedness and focuses her work on establishment of civilian-military systems for blood supply contingency planning and emergency blood preparedness. She is Senior Consultant at the Department of Immunology and Transfusion Medicine at Haukeland University Hospital in Bergen, Norway, and holds a PhD (2010) on platelet transfusion from the University of Bergen. She is responsible for the training of medical students in Transfusion Medicine at the University of Bergen.
