Aim of the webinar

To discuss the top 10 Transfusion Evidence Round-Up papers curated by our reviewing panel on the topic of bleeding disorders, in recognition of World Haemophilia Day 2023. We will also discuss the process of conducting the Round-Up.

Gesine Weckmann is a physician and completed her transfusion medicine residency at the university of Rostock.

She is currently working as a professor for health education and prevention with a research focus on Health services research and anemia.

Member of the German Society of Transfusion Medicine and ISBT.

Jessica Guglielmino

Jessica Guglielmino is a blood bank and haematology medical scientist at Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne, Australia. Graduated with a Masters of Laboratory Medicine from RMIT University, she is passionate about all aspects of immunohematology and transfusion science. She is also a research scientist within Monash University’s Transfusion Research Unit (TRU). Jess is an active member in numerous professional societies, including the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT), the Australian & New Zealand Society of Blood Transfusion (ANZSBT) and the Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists (AIMS).

Resident physician, National Center of Transfusion Hematology in Bulgaria, Department of Blood Supply Management

Dr. Lyuben Georgiev, is a first-year resident physician at the National Center of Transfusion Hematology in Bulgaria, Department of Blood Supply Management. Member of the Bulgarian Scientific Society of Transfusion Hematology.

His research experience includes 2 case study presentations at student congresses. More recently, he worked on manuscript preparation for a large database study on multiple myeloma conducted at Hackensack University Medical Center, USA. He also took several online research courses, by Medical Research Academy and Nature Masterclasses.
