Donors and donations

This Academy Day session was held on June 21, 2026, during the 39th International ISBT Congress in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Donors and donations session included the following presentations:

1. Thane Moze Darumalinggam: Who donates matters: blood donor demographics and diversity in Malaysia
2. Noriko Namba: Novel recruitment strategies to capture young donors
3. Denese Marks: Novel component therapies (donor age, gender, product size)

Moderators: Rachel Thorpe, Inna Vilshanivska

Fun fact: during the Academy Day sessions in Kuala Lumpur, experienced moderators were matched with young professionals to let them practice moderating in a supportive setting.
