Visa Requirements in Malaysia
Planning to attend the 39th International ISBT Congress in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia? Here’s what you need to know about entering Malaysia:
It is the delegate’s responsibility to investigate the visa requirements for entry to Malaysia and to apply for a visa, if necessary. Delegates who require an entry visa must allow sufficient time for the application procedure.
Do You Need a Visa?
- Visa-Free Entry: Citizens of over 60 countries—including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, and most EU nations — can enter Malaysia without a visa for short stays (typically up to 90 days). See the list of countries whose citizens require a visa here. ASEAN nationals (except Myanmar) do not need a visa for stays under 30 days. Indian and Chinese nationals are exempt from visa requirements for social visits until 31 December 2026.
- Visa Required: If your country is not on the visa-free list, you must apply for a Short-Term Social Visit Pass or an eVisa before traveling. Check the https://www.imi.gov.my/index.php/en/main-services/visa/ for the latest requirements.
Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC)
- All foreign visitors must complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) online within 3 days before arrival. This is mandatory for entry.
