Aim of the webinar:
This webinar will describe the Canadian National Plan for Management of Labile Blood Components, first conceived in 2006, highlighting key learnings from its implementation over the past two decades. The presentation will discuss the development of a triage tool for managing patients with massive hemorrhage during periods of blood shortage, and how elements of the plan are currently being applied to address shortages of immune globulin and potential workforce constraints. Additional information on these initiatives is available through the National Advisory Committee on Blood and Blood Products (NAC).

Policy makers, transfusion medicine laboratory personnel (technologists, laboratory assistants, safety coordinators, and transfusion physicians), operations managers, blood supplier product distribution teams, and clinical staff involved in blood ordering and utilization.
