This webinar will provide an evidence-based overview of exchange transfusion in sickle cell disease, focusing on current guidelines, clinical outcomes, and best practices. It aims to bridge research findings with practical applications in transfusion medicine and therapeutic apheresis.

What knowledge is required? 

Should have knowledge on the pathophysiology of sickle cell disease and management of sickle cell disease, especially the complications of sickle cell disease and the role of blood transfusion in managing complications. 
 
The audience should also be aware of the different types of transfusion practices and of comparative studies on manual versus automated exchange transfusion techniques.
